Amber Management Group

History

In 1994, Avatar Properties, Inc., a publicly traded company, formed a time share division, and hired Tom Mosser and Stacy Hartzog, two of the current principles in Amber Group, Inc., as President and Vice President of the division.

Immediately thereafter, Avatar Vacation Club was created, and an existing condominium development in Poinciana, Florida, Alhambra Villas, was placed in the time share plan. Acquisition of land, planning, and development of Sunrise Ridge Resort in the Great Smokey Mountains began, as well as a search for a beach front location.

With the acquisition and conversion of a beachfront location in Ormond Beach, Florida a year later into Casa Del Mar Beach Resort, the timeshare division provided mountain, beach and Disney attraction locations.

In 1998, Avatar Properties refocused on its core operations, and chose to divest itself of several divisions of the company, including time share operations. Tom Mosser and Stacy Hartzog were retained to continue to manage the operations as well as seek a qualified buyer.

After discussions and negotiations with several national time share groups, Tom and Stacy believed the existing owner base and future of the vacation club would be best served by remaining independent of larger developers. They formed Amber Group, Inc. along with two silent partners, and negotiated a leveraged buyout of Avatar’s time share division.

Avatar Vacation Club became Amber Vacation Club, LLC and Amber Resorts Management, LCC was formed to manage the operations at each site. Sales continued at all sites until successful sellout in 2006.

In 2009, Nick Gray joined Amber as the Chief Operational Officer, to position the company for future growth as well as to manage day to day operations.

Currently Amber Vacation Club and Amber Resort Management provide central reservations, owner services and resort management to 15,000 owners at three resort locations as well as two additional affiliate sites.

Currently, Amber is actively seeking affiliate sites and management opportunities, and developing a plan for expansion of Amber Vacation Club benefits.

The Amber Vacation Club was established in 1994 and presently has 5 resorts managed or affiliated. Thousands of members enjoy access to almost 4000 quality resorts worldwide.
